Basically, there are two species of creatures in this ecosystem --- Sona and Lumi. They live in a supplementing while counteracting relationship. They try to find and get close to each other, however when they actually are close, they lose each other.

Sona is the kind of creature that feeds on light while produces noise. It is constantly looking for light sources. When it cannot find a light source, it makes a louder noise and as it gets closer to a light source, it gets quieter. On the contrary, Lumi is the kind of creature that feeds on sound while produces light. It is constantly looking for sound sources. Similarly, when it cannot find a sound source, it makes a brighter light and as it gets closer to a sound source, the light of itself gets dimmer.

On the technical side, Lumi appears as a walking creature carrying a light bulb on its back with microphones sensors in front as its feelers for sound. Sona has the appearance of a walking creature too but with a speaker on its back and photo cells in front as its feelers for light.

Prototype 2

Iteration 1
In this version:

It looks cool but barely stands.

Legs are loose because the material size is not correct however the binding posts are the correct size.

There is not enough traction between legs and ground.

Stepper motors are not torquey enough.

Iteration 2
In this version:

Stepper motors are replaced with torquey dc motors.

Hand-made wire washers added into the binding posts so legs are tighter.

Strings are added as muscles to pull the legs.

Problem here is there are only two points that connects body and leg. It moves or breaks easily.

Iteration 3
In this version:

"Side Table" structures are added to increase the contact area of leg and body and screwed on to be more stable.

Traction stickers are added to legs but not enough.

Iteration 4
In this version:

One more supporting linkage is added to the leg system which is essential because having it provide pushing and supporting forces the legs now lift the right high while are held in the right places. The walking movement is finally achieved.

Iteration 5
In this version:

Two hacky side stands are added. Hey, at least it looks fine and now it can walk forever and won't fall.
